upgarde doesn´t take a package name as paramater.
man apt-get:
-----------------------------
upgrade is used to install the newest versions of all packages
currently installed on the system
-----------------------------
Try:
$ apt-get --show-upgraded --verbose-versions upgrade
or:
$ apt-get --show-upgraded --verbose-versions dist-upgrade
