The public key usually is somewhere on the site where you got the name
of the repository from, "http://debian-multimedia.org etch". By the way,
usually it is not advisable to install packages for Debian in Ubuntu.

This is weird, the main security server was certainly not down. I think
the problem is at your end, which is supported by what you wrote next:

Please post the contents of the file /etc/apt/sources.list. Something
seems wrong there.
