Is the filename capitalized? Filenames in *ix filesystems are case
sensitive. Try typing part of the name and press tab to see if the
shell completes it. As others have suggested, you could try using a GUI,
or you could install mc (a non-GUI file manager, like Norton Commander
for DOS). Or you could install the Ubuntu thunderbird package (it might
be a slightly older version than the tar.gz).
