localhost network not resuming?

After running feisty through many suspend / resume cycles, the 
thunderbird yahoo mail extension complains it can't connect to 
localhost.  It uses port 2000.  Entering 127.0.0.1:2000 in firefox or 
konqueror gives a busy cursor but not response.  However, entering 
127.0.0.1:631 does bring up cups.  So localhost is running on that port.

I don't understand why yahoo mail doesn't work.  If I do "sudo ifdown 
lo" followed by "sudo ifup lo" it will start working again.

Seems like port 2000 of localhost does not resume all the time.

Any ideas why?
