Start by posting the contents of /boot/grub/menu.lst
I suspect the issue is there.
The Windows section should look something like this:
title Windows XP Media Center Edition
root (hd0,1)
savedefault
makeactive
chainloader +1
The "root" part will depend on the drive and partition your
Windows install is located. Above Windows is installed on
the first drive second partition.
