blank DVD not recognized

Hi

I created an iso image of 4.7GB and wanted to write it to a DVD using 
k3b or a commandline tool. I tried K3B but DVD was not recognised. Then 
I tried

amuls at geod07:~] growisofs -speed=2 -dvd-compat -Z 
/dev/dvd=/data/amuls/movie.iso
:-[ READ DISC INFORMATION failed with SK=3h/ASC=57h/ACQ=00h]: 
Input/output error

and got this error message.

What to do now?
