What ports need to be forwarded for NFS to work?

No, my ISP doesn't block anything. I was able to use NFS from outside
before I got the router I am presently using.

OK - I don't know about either of these methods and didn't know it was
inherently unsafe to use NFS from outside a LAN. Can I use NFS with
VPN? It is imperative that I use NFS. Is there any benefit to using
either VPN or ssh?
