Not that I can think of; I'm about as IM literate as a brick. I normally
use chatzilla for IM and only installed Gaim/Pidgin to "try" to
communicate with my son at college. When I say "try" to communicate, I
mean the technology works just fine... in my case it's the receiving end
that seems to exhibit the symptoms you describe :-)
