Botched Squid Restart

I was having some problems getting my squid proxy back up and going on Ubuntu, and was hoping maybe someone would have some good advice for me.

I have set the visible host name, and installed squid, and adjusted minimal settings (just to get it back up and going again - I was going to remove it and reinstalled it afterwards).

The error is this:

start-stop-daemon: Unable to set gid to 0 (Operation not permitted)

After I type in: /etc/init.d/squid start

Thanks again.
