Encrypted Removable Drives

Have gone through all the cryptsetup / LUKS / encryption drive HowTo's
that I can find, but I've missed something.  I cannot find out how to
create an encrypted partition on a removable drive that will allow
removing and remounting since the encrypted filesystems don't seem to
support LABEL= or UUID= in /etc/crypttab.

Is there a way to do this, or something equivalent so that when drives
come up in a different order, they can be mounted reliably.
