Are you using the native driver or the ndiswrapper driver?

I use the native (bcm43xx) driver on my mac mini (from time to time,
usually it's just plugged in via an ethernet cable). It's been mostly
reliable for me. One thing you can try, which I've found to be useful
when a wireless card starts acting up is to unload its driver and load
it back in. This is possible by doing:
sudo modprobe -r bcm43xx
(wait a few seconds)
sudo modprobe bcm43xx

network manager (the network icon by the clock) should rediscover the
wireless device and reconnect to the network.
