Depends how you define "better".  PostgreSQL is usually considered
lighter weight and faster, but MySQL is often more widely supported.
Ultimately, it depends on what you're using it for.  If you're
building your own system and speed is a concern, PG may be a good
choice.  If you're using a CMS like WordPress, only MySQL is
supported.  Another mixed situation you may run into is something like
Drupal (another CMS), which supports both for the core, but community
contributed modules may or may not work on both.
