Nothing plays DVDs in Ubuntu Gutsy?

Another round of FYI ;) For me it works in all video players that are
supposed to play DVDs: ogle, mplayer, xine, gxine, vlc,
totem-{xine,gstreamer}, maybe others. However, totem does not support
DVD menus, and mplayer neither, though I seem to recall it did years ago
in Debian.
