A friend of mine has just updated from Feisty to Gutsy. With Gutsy her
mobile phone (Sony Ericsson K550i) is no longer recognized as a storage
device. This is the relevant part of /var/log/messages when the mobile
phone is connected to the USB port:

19:48:22 usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 5
19:48:23 usb 2-2: configuration #3 chosen from 1 choice
19:48:23 cdc_acm 2-2:3.1: ttyACM0: USB ACM device
19:48:23 cdc_acm 2-2:3.3: ttyACM1: USB ACM device
19:48:23 usb0: register 'cdc_ether' at usb-0000:00:10.1-2, CDC Ethernet
Device, 02:80:37:07:03:00
19:48:37 usb 2-2: USB disconnect, address 5
19:48:37 usb0: unregister 'cdc_ether' usb-0000:00:10.1-2, CDC Ethernet
Device
19:48:39 usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 6
19:48:40 usb 2-2: configuration #2 chosen from 1 choice

To me it looks a bit strange that first there are 2 ttyACM devices which
are disconnected soon afterwards. Then there is a CDC Ethernet device
which is also disconencted soon afterwards. And then there is a third
device which seems not to be recognized.

And this is the output of lsusb:

Bus 002 Device 008: ID 0fce:e069 Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB

Any ideas?

Nils
