Ubuntu 7.10 requirement?

When I tried compiz on Ubuntu 18 months ago, I had a crappy on-board
(part of the motherboard's nForce chipset) Geforce 2 MX with 32MB of
RAM.  As far as I remember, it was working very smoothly/well.

So I guess even the cheapest of todays video cards, even Intel on-board
chips, will be plenty enough for compiz.
