RAID array recognition - Feisty

Hi --

I have just tried to add a RAID array (Seagate, 500 GB SATA disks) to my 
Feisty computer.  The size of sda is listed as 65GB, though.  Two questions:

1.   How do I get it to recognize that the array is 500 GB, not 65 GB?
2.   How do I check that the RAID array is working?
