The app that reads these is called an 'ebrary reader'. As far as I can
make out, it's a format called 'Electronic Document Format' (although I
did think originally it was the 'European Document Format'.
The reader for this is only on Win and Mac (limited support there).
FF reports these files as 'x-application/edf'
that's as much as I have at the moment, though I'm still digging for
more.
