Installing KDE and Removing Ubuntu (Don't want Kubuntu)

Ok, so is it just most of the gnome apps that you want uninstalled while
leaving required gnome libraries (gconf2) for apps like Pidgin? If
that's the case, use aptitude to select "gnome" under --\Installed
Packages and then click on the menu packages-->remove. I was under the
impression you wanted all gnome libraries purged off the system as well
as the apps.
