Update Open Office on Feisty Fawn

Here is what  I did.
sudo apt-get remove openoffice*
Extract the files to /home/user
After extraction
cd /home/user/OOG680_m5_native_packed-1_en-US.9221/RPMS
sudo alien -d *.rpm (this will convert rpm to deb)
sudo dpkg -i *.deb (this will install the deb files)
cd 
/home/user/OOG680_m5_native_packed-1_en-US.9221/RPMS/desktop-integration
sudo dpkg -i *.deb (this installs the Debian Menus)

Using this method I was able to install Open Office 2.3.0.
However, after doing this, update manager tells me there are updates available for Open Office.
