[gutsy] keyboard repeat is inverted

All of a sudden, when I try to use keyboard repeat, nothing happens 
until I release the key, then it scrolls the letter across the page. 
For example, while holding down the "a" key, it just prints one letter 
"a" .. if I continue to hold it down, no more "a"s get printed.  But, 
when I release it, the line fills with "a"s.  The longer I hold it, the 
longer the string of "a"s.  What can I do to fix this?
