ubuntu install problem

Not a pro but I had kind of the same problem until I found out that my cat
had spilled coffee all over the keyboard. I didn't see it, but everything
was going crazy couldn't even write my password after a few days, so make
sure that doesn't come from the keyboard or mouse.
