Thanks for that! I did manage to get it running, using that link in
addition to this one (which seemed to be the key):
http://michigantelephone.mi.org/blog/2006/09/how-to-install-nx-server-and-client.html

Dual-booted my other machine into WindowsXPPro and NX logged into the
Ubuntu machine. However, I have to say (and I'm still testing & figuring
all of this out) that this thing is a little frightening to me. It logs
in a separate session on the Ubuntu machine and there seems to be *no*
indication on the current running desktop session that the NX session is
connected & running. By that I mean; when I VNC from the XPP machine to
the Ubuntu machine I get I notification icon in the top Gnome panel
telling me that a remote VNC is connected. I get no such warning using
NX. Is there some setting that I am missing that I can set so that I
know if an NX is connected in the same way that I know that a VNC is
connected?
