I don't think that this has anything to do with the graphics card, more
likely a USB problem in the kernel.
I have googled for "udecd-event[1935]: run_program: "/sbin/modprobe"
abnormal exit". It is generally a good idea just to google for the error
message (something that usually cannot be done in Windows because the
error messages say so little). It came up with just one result, in
German (note that "udevd-event" is most likely just a typo.)

This guy has this problem with linux 2.6.20-12 to -15, while with
2.6.20-11 it had been fine. Updating 2.6.20-16 solved it again.
Which Ubuntu version did you install? Was it a newly downloaded CD?
