Hmmmm - maybe this is it - the Geforce 4 DOES need the legacy drivers,
not the current ones.

(Can anybody else hear Liam chanting 'I told you so' ?  It's pretty
loud from here)

OK - let's skip the nvidia drivers for now then.

New plan - replace the word 'nvidia' with 'nv' everywhere in your xorg.conf
Reboot.

Try lspci again.
