As near as I can tell, there _aren't_ any security fixes for this bug in
2.2. How can Ubuntu package them if oo doesn't create them?

I agree with you except for one thing: this isn't the place to report errors
in Gutsy. It might get noted, but it is at least as likely to be missed,
as one assumes this far into October the developers are pretty busy dealing
with what's actually reported in Launchpad.
