Problems syncing jpilot on Gutsy -- yes, I know it's beta ;-)

Folks,

I've got a Tungsten E2 I'm trying to sync with Jpilot on Xubuntu Gusty.
The latest pilot-link is installed. I've tried several "devices" in
Jpilot settings -- /dev/pilot, ttyUSB0, and ttyUSB1 -- to no avail. I
keep getting the pi_bind error. I found on Ubuntu's forums a page that
talks about setting up a rule for udev, so I tried that. Still no sync.
Interestingly, I noticed that when I monitored the /dev/ folder with
Thunar, each time I pressed the sync button on the Tungsten, I'd get a
new set (four to five) of usbdevs, specifically:

usbdev_1.6_ep 00/07/81/86

When the Palm connection timed out, these entries vanished, to be
replaced with usbdev_1.7_ep... the next time I pressed the hotsync
button. Each time out would clear these temporary entries, and each new
press of the bot sync button would trigger a new set with a larger
number to the right of the decimal point. Seems like for a device trying
to sync, it would be like trying to hit a moving target.

Any thoughts as to how I can get this sync stuff working?

With best regards,

Pete
