Hello Albert,

Did what you said, but still no icon showing. I noticed in the /etc/fstab
file that my root, home and swap are identified by a UUID rather than by the
usual /dev/sdaX. (or hdaX).
Could this be the problem?

To be perfectly honest with you I really don't care about having an icon on
my desktop, but I would like to know how to do it.
