Funny you mention this - I'm already so used to troubleshooting broken
(and unchoosen dependencies) it never occurred me how often I do it. I
gues most of the time I simply consider it an inherent part of the
upgrade process. Even on normal non-dist-upgrade operations, sometimes
when I start the aptitude TUI, after some update-manager/-notifier
routine upgrades, some packages are selected for uninstallation. Never
understood why this happens, but got used to it after some dozens of
times.
I guess I must have been lucky, because I never had the kind of
trouble I had in the test I mentioned. I'd really like to test it
again.
