Is there a Linux equivalent to ...?

TypeItIn lets you define buttons that will insert any information you 
want in any Windows application (when you click on a particular button). 
I use it to fill out forms on the web, to insert "boilerplate" in to 
emails, etc.

I tried to run it under Wine but it failed.

Is there a Linux equivalent?
