If you don't mind the (tiny) space it uses on your harddisk you can leave 
it installed. GDM remembers what your preferred session type is and will 
use that as default for you. Therefore you won't notice any difference. 
However it might be nice to have a working second window manager 
installed. Just as a fall back in case your gnome setup is no longer 
working for some reason.
