Not sure what the problem could be. I have tried on three different
machines & all work:

1. Intel ICH5 (Alsa Mixer)
   Master
2. Sound Fusion CS46xx (Alsa Mixer)
   Master
3. Intel 82801BA-ICH2 (Alsa Mixer)
   Master
Note: Headphone also works.
