feature request for gnome-volume-manager

In the process of looking for a way to turn off the touch pad on my 
laptop when I plug a mouse in, I noticed the posting of a bug report on

   https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-volume-manager/+bug/92175

but the report and subsequent comments date back 8 months, and the bug 
is tagged new, of undecided importance and unassigned.  So, it doesn't 
look like it's going anywhere.

Nevertheless, I would like to submit it to some likely place as a 
feature request.

It would be great if gnome-volume-properties could offer an option to 
automatically turn on/off the touchpad when a mouse is attached/removed.
