Linux Skype Features !?

Hello
Since 2-3 weeks I am experimenting and using Ubuntu 7.10 RC Gutsy ;-)
Still struggling with notebook and external TFT screen's and the best
static IP settings of the wired and/or wireless configuration. 

Finally one more difficulty:
How is Skype under Linux / Ubuntu ?
Comparable and incl. Webcam for Videocalls to Windows XP Pro ??

Skype works here without the webcam and I am not sure if I made a
mistake or I really cannot get it !?

Please advice and guide me ;-)
