DNS and Wireless problem using Ubuntu Feisty 7.04

When I initially installed ubuntu I could get connected to the internet via
my ADSL router the moment I logged in. But now the resolv.conf entry keeps
getting reset at startup. Why is it so and how do I best fix it?

I am currently manually executing setdns from the terminal every time I log
on which is basically

sudo dhclient3 eth0
sudo cp /home/nitjas/.resolv.conf.mtnl /etc/resolv.conf

with .resolv.conf.mtnl containing the correct DNS addresses.
What is the elegant way of doing it? Infact what can I do to take it back to
its earlier state where everything would automagically work?
I have tried editing /etc/dhcp3/dhclient.conf by adding prepend
domain-name-servers but that did not work. I am attaching contents of the
/var/log/daemon.log before and after I execute setdns.

An ls /var/run yields the following

atd.pid dhclient.ath0.pid hal sudo
avahi-daemon dhclient.eth1.pid klogd syslogd.pid
console dhclient.eth2.pid motd system-tools-backends.pid
crond.pid dhclient.pid network utmp
crond.reboot dhclient.wlan0.pid NetworkManager
dbus gdm.pid pppconfig
dhcdbd.pid gdm_socket screen

I suspect though that I am looking at the bug listed here
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/avahi/+bug/122659

If it is indeed true that avahi-autoipd and dhclient are struggling with
each other what is the solution?

2. There seems to also be a problem with the wireless card. During bootup
the following message is repeatedly flashed on the screen after some
interval as also when I Ctrl+Alt+F1 to get into one of the text GUIs
(shell?).

error loading '/lib/firmware/bcm43xx_microcode5.fw' for device
'/class/firmware/0000:05:02.0' with driver '(unknown)'

Recommended cure?

All help appreciated.
