Hello there,
I'm trying to set up a local mirror so that my 50-ish PCs update
locally rather than going out and fetch packages. I think a sensible
thing to do, right?
So I have installed debmirror and I'm running it like this:
/usr/bin/debmirror \
--progress \
--nosource \
--host=uk.archive.ubuntu.com \
--method=http \
--root=ubuntu \
--dist=dapper,gutsy \
--section=main,restricted,universe,multiverse \
--arch=i386 \
--getcontents \
/var/www/ubuntu
And the output looks like this:
Mirroring to /var/www/ubuntu from http://uk.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/
Arches: i386
Dists: dapper,gutsy
Sections: main,restricted,universe,multiverse
Will clean up AFTER mirroring.
Pdiff mode: use.
Attempting to get lock, this might take 2 minutes before it fails.
Get Release files.
[0%] Getting: dists/dapper/Release... ok
[0%] Getting: dists/dapper/Release.gpg... ok
[0%] Getting: dists/gutsy/Release... ok
[0%] Getting: dists/gutsy/Release.gpg... ok
Get Packages and Sources files and other miscellany.
Get Contents files.
[100%] Getting: dists/dapper/Contents-i386.gz... ok
[116%] Getting: dists/gutsy/Contents-i386.gz... ok
Parse Packages and Sources files and add to the file list everything therein.
Download all files that we need to get (62 MiB).
Downloaded 84 MiB in 1230s at 69.86 kiB/s
Everything OK. Moving meta files.
Cleanup mirror.
All done.
Why is not downloading the packages? What am I doint wrong?
PS. I *know* the initial sync will be large. But I'll provide the
mirror for the city as well.
Peace,
Amit.
