Sorry, don't know what else to guess at - I don't have any Nvidia cards
(only ATI) so can't be any help there. Perhaps file as a new bug?

On second thought, perhaps check your bios settings to see if there is a
framebuffer option in the video settings that may get you past the
failure, or try turning off acpi at F6. Also just found this:
