Hi,

A friend of mine had some hardware problems so we tried to boot grub with
acpi=off manually.

I don't remember exactly WHAT he did and in which order, but he ended up
with a rootshell without logging in (no x, no networking, looked like
initlevel=S)

Does anyone know what could be happened? Andif it is a bug or feature(tm) ?

Jan
