g77-3.4, ubuntu 7.10

Hi

I have done:


sudo apt-get install g77-3.4

But when I try to compile this is what I get

g77-3.4  test.f
/usr/bin/ld: crt1.o: No such file: No such file or directory
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

HELP!
