Earlier this year, Intel announced its intentions to make discrete
video cards with high performance. So hopefully there future integrated
chips will also take advantage of that.
This news seemed serious/official, so although I have not heard about
it since then, let's just cross fingers ! I assume it takes time to
design new products, so let's dream that they will not drop the
project, and let's hope that early next year, they release their first
such product... with free drivers hopefully like their existing
chips ! :o)
I hope that they don't  give up this project in case ATI do free their
drivers before then.

Anyway, looks like things are progressing at last this year, for freedom
and 3D on Linux, that's good...
