I should have know that :-) Looks as if ubuntu-desktop is the one & then
trim from there:

This package depends on all of the packages in the Ubuntu standard
system. This set of packages provides a comfortable command-line
Unix-like environment.

    Minimal core of Ubuntu
    The Ubuntu standard system
    The Ubuntu desktop system

Now that's one that I didn't know about -thanks! I've another drive
(4GB) in my test box, I'll put LAMP & gnome/gnome-desktop-environment on
that one to compare.
