Thanks for the reply.. I was able to successfully boot using DSL ( Damn Small Linux) using 256 M cf card. But still trying to do so using Ubuntu and Centos server edition.

I got it for ~5€ on ebay. AFAIU you just have to forward the 40 pins of
the IDE interface to the CF card and add power, because CF talks IDE
internally.
