Application menu info needed...???

To get a "Debian" menu, install  "menu-xdg "

sudo aptitude install menu-xdg

this should pull in the "menu" package as well. Apparently the menu-xdg
package is "freedesktop.org" menu compliant. 

Using aptitude as above will get the "menu" package ( it's a "recommends"
rather than a dependency)
