Hello,
I'm running the Feisty Fawn on a one-year-old desktop computer with two
CD/DVD drives. For about 4 weeks, I had no problems reading or burning data
DVDs in either drive. This morning I started getting errors trying to mount
two particular data DVDs. When I try to mount either of these two DVDs by
placing the DVD in the drive, the following error appears:
Invalid mount option when attempting to mount the volume
The kernel log (/var/log/kern.log) shows the following error messages:
May 20 15:05:18 linux kernel: [26969.108806] sr 1:0:0:0: SCSI error: return

The same messages appear if I tried to mount the DVD in the other drive
(although sr0 becomes sr1).
Do these error messages indicate a bad DVD drive, a bad DVD, or a
configuration problem? I tried mounting several other data DVDs in the
desktop computer, and they all mount successfully, which makes me think that
the two data DVDs are bad. But I took the two data DVDs that do not mount,
placed them in a laptop running openSUSE, and they mounted fine there, which
makes me think that the DVD drives on the desktop are bad. Can someone
explain this?
Thanks very much for your help!
