GRUB question

Hello,All.

Is it possible to have the GRUB to search for the menu.lst not on the
/boot/grub of the boot partition but on the /boot/grub directory of another
partition different from the one marked as boot?
If so, how can I see the actual configuration my GRUB is using at this
moment?

Any help/advice deeply appreciated
