Installing .deb packages with apt-get

Huh?  aptitude is just an updated apt-get with a curses gui.  It never
invokes apt-get.  Some of the other guis use apt-get (kpackage, iirc)
others don't (adept seems to call routines in libapt), but they all end up
invoking dpkg.
