Two things:

1. check the md5sum
2. make sure you follow the
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto
instructions that Matt pointed you to.

You appear to be posting from an IP in Santa Clara county. If you don't
get it working in a day or two drop me a note offlist & I'll be happy to
give you a working CD & see if I can help you out directly. Note: I have
both Live CD & Alternate for Dapper 6.061 and Alternate CD's for 7.04 -
I no longer install using the Live CD's.
