I forgot to add: in Synaptic, File|History will give you the history of
installed, upgraded and removed software packages. So, for instance if I
look at April 2007 and 04/24/2007 I can see (on my system) that
gnome-panel(1:2.18.1-0ubuntu3) was upgraded to 1:2.18.1-0ubuntu3.1 etc.
