Can things in Universe get into Backports? If so, the latest stable
Gnucash needs to get into the Backports repositories as far back as it
will go. I don't believe it will go back as far as Dapper, but maybe
to Edgy.

ON the downside, the notes on Backports includes all sorts of dire
warnings about the repository, so some folks may be dissuaded.

I, too, REALLY need a stable GnuCash to work with, and the GnuCash
folks get snippy when I ask questions because the Dapper version is
well over a year old, but unfortunately it's the last STABLE release
that made it into Ubuntu. (The others hit the repositories at just the
wrong time.)
