Why did edgy->feisty install mdadm (I don't have RAID)?

Curiously, I recently got the following cron message!

Subject: Cron <root at floo> [ -x /usr/share/mdadm/checkarray ] && [ $(date +%d) -le 7 ] && /usr/share/mdadm/checkarray --cron --all --quiet

checkarray: W: no active MD arrays found.
checkarray: W: (maybe uninstall the mdadm package?)
