no sound on feisty

I recently realized the sound on my laptop had disappeared as well. I 
went into the volume control (double clicked the icon on the top panel. 
I found the PCM sliders all the way down and the mute button turned on. 
Once I changed that (unmute and sliders up) the sound came back. See if 
that's your problem.
